Ampersand
Andrea Herstowski
The ampersand, a delightful little symbol, stands in for the word "and" and serves as an excellent showcase of typography's prowess. As a "visual bridge" connecting letters and words, it presents endless opportunities for creative exploration. In the workshop, you'll have the chance to experiment with various techniques for crafting an ampersand, and we'll guide you in transforming your sketches into a functional letter using the Glyphs app. Regardless of your prior experience, all are welcome to participate. An Empathetic Confrontationalist
Scott Braun
Join us for a talk with Scott Braun on The Decency Project. The Decency Project ranges from intimate dialog to group conversation to performative demonstrations and sometimes even collaborative performance. In all cases, finding connection and community through craft and labor is at the core. While carving spoons together, Braun and participants engage in difficult conversation: What does it mean to be human? If I am human, what does that mean I should do, and not do? How do we define decency and shame? How and why do we form societies? Come join us for this discussion and find answers together. At least more questions. Or maybe just a way to feed each other.
